More than a year ago, we replaced the carpet and linoleum in the kitchen with hardwood floors. We ripped up the steps and this landing as well, and it sat like this for, well, an entire year and then some.

We finally decided it was time to finish the job, so we (translation: Shad) got to work.

First he put on the facing for the stairs.

Then he put in the step and stairnose pieces.

Then he put in tile on the landing.

So even though these next two pictures show very little of the actual space we refinished, they were the closest pictures I could find from when we first moved in. So, before:

It's really nice to have it done. Much thanks to Shad, because he pretty much did all the work. I just took pictures.
