April Fool's

I didn't mention anything this year to Drake about it being April Fools' Day.  So when I made "frosted cupcakes" for dinner, I didn't realize how genuinely excited he would get at the prospect of eating cupcakes for dinner.  He couldn't believe it, and kept jumping up and down, as happy and excited about something as I've seen him in a long time.

We also had "cinnamon breadsticks", but they didn't elicit quite the same initial reaction.

Drake and Graham each claimed one of the cupcakes with sprinkles, of course, and were anxious for us to sit down so they could eat.

This picture doesn't fully capture his reaction when, upon taking his first bite, he discovered that they were actually meatloaf cupcakes with dyed mashed potatoes for the frosting.

I worried that he might get upset and not want to finish dinner, but surprisingly, he played right along once he realized it was all part of April Fools' Day, and even finished eating his entire cupcake.  Graham, on the other hand, didn't eat much of his cupcake, but was more than happy to eat up the pizza sticks.
