conference weekend

In April, we went South to watch General Conference with Shad's family.  Driving down, the weather wasn't giving us much hope of a nice weekend.

That first night (and the next) we stayed at Shad's sister Mandi's place---thanks again Mandi and Kevin.  The next morning when I went to get something out of the car, I discovered two things: 1) it had snowed during the night; and 2) a side door on our van had been left open all night... I don't recommend the combination of those two.

We spent some time at Shad's grandparents' home in Bountiful.

Avery was walking around with Papa's help.

Shad's nephew Zach was very talented at this game.  He would often get the highest score 5 times in a row.

Here is video of him reaching the high score for the 100th time.  (fyi: I think before the weekend was over, he had scored the big points more than 400 times...)

Cousins all in a row watching the tube.

All except for Graham I guess.

Back at the Dustin home, the kids all had fun with Shad.

All except for Graham that is (he's the one crying on Shad's lap).

Shad's sister Amber came up from Vegas.  Avery is becoming more of a Momma's girl, but she sure likes Amber.

These cousins were all born within just a few months of each other, so we force them to get pictures together from time to time.

Despite the initial weather driving down, it turned out to be a nice weekend.

At least nice enough to be outside some of the time.

It was fun to just watch the kids play.

There is a big hill in the backyard, among other things.

Graham enjoyed just walking around by himself.

He's always been kind of a quiet kid (though he can be loud when he wants to be).

I enjoy visiting family.

Shad does too.

I also like taking pictures, in case you didn't know.

Kevin spent some quality time with chicken.

And it helped make for a delicious dinner Sunday night.

Here's the proof that it was delicious (thanks to everyone who made stuff).

We had a great time with family and there was rarely a dull moment.

I always enjoy General Conference, and this weekend was no different.  It's nice to have the convenience of watching it from the comforts of a home.  I look forward to reading through the talks again.  Good stuff.
