swimming lessons and math

The boys have been taking swimming lessons this month. Considering they had a fear of water last year (well, mostly Drake), I was thrilled that not only were they excited, but they did everything the coach asked.....

It's been fun to see them become more and more familiar with the water.

And to see them doing things they wouldn't do last year.

Graham seems to enjoy himself quite a bit while in the water.

And their favorite part of our time there is the few minutes they get to sit in the hot tub when they're all done with their lessons. They never get in past their knees, but they love it nonetheless.

And on a different thought, Drake loves math. I'm pretty sure he thinks in numbers all the time. He will randomly spout out math problems (mostly addition, some multiplication) and is correct 99% of the time. A little while back he brought home an "award" that he received for helping the other students in his class with math. So today, as we were driving home from his swim lessons, he was telling me how in their little swim group, there were two five-year olds, a four-year old, and a three year old. That means Graham was the youngest, and that all together they were seventeen. I'm glad he likes numbers... and swimming.
