Drake loves field trips, no matter where they are. But when I first told him we were going to a pediatric dentist's office, he seemed a little unsure about the whole idea. I don't know why he already has apprehensions when he's never been to the dentist before. But as soon as we got there and walked through the front door, any fears he had were forgotten when he saw how "cool" the place was; I have to admit--it was pretty cool.
Who wants to go to the dentist now?
First the Dr. talked to them about their mouths and brushing their teeth and stuff.
Then the dental assistants talked about healthy foods vs. "unhealthy" foods that aren't as good for our teeth.
The kids got to take turns squirting water in a cup and then sucking it up in the vacuum. Up to that point, Graham was acting pretty shy, but playing with water broke him out of that shell.
They also got to ride up and down on the chair.
When we were done, they were all smiles. The trick now is to actually get Drake to cooperate for a real dentist appointment.
Thanks again Dr. McWhorter and staff!
