New Years Day

So we started the new year off having fun with cousins.

And reading books with Papa.

We got a VIP tour of the new auditorium building on BYU-Idaho campus.

It's pretty big.  This is the main auditorium.

There are at least 5 full basketball courts in one big area.

A track runs around the perimeter of the basketball court.

These funky ceiling decorations actually help light up the room.  Lights on the sides of the walls were installed to shine and reflect off of these circles which then reflect light back down into the room.  The reason they didn't just install lights on the ceiling is because it would be a near impossible task to try to reach that part of the ceiling to change a light bulb.  Genius.

We got to see some of the underground stuff.

Check out the size of those heating ducts (I think that's what they were).

Cement tunnels.

Control Panel.

Cool stairs.  It's an impressive building, to say the least.

We took advantage of the snow available to make a snowman.

These pictures don't do the sun justice, but there was a beautiful sunset while we drove back home.  It was fun to bring in the new year with family.

I look forward to a new year.  (This is one of Graham's recent drawings that I wanted to document- he loves to draw).

And it will be fun to see all the milestones that this one will hit this year.

Welcome 2011.
