This is our backyard... well, one side of it.
When we first moved in, it looked like this.
That first autumn, I ripped out the closer fence, and Shad moved the other one behind the apricot trees, closer to the pasture. This is how it looked, more or less, until now.
Just before we left to go to Colorado in June, Shad spent the time to till up and level all the dirt and plant grass seed. Thanks to almost an entire month of it raining, it didn't take long to look like this.
After another month or so, we mowed it for the first time and it looked like this.
We also planted a Red Maple tree to provide more shade in the future. We like our backyard. The kids really like it. It's nice to have grass instead of dirt (don't worry, we still have plenty of dirt elsewhere for the kids to play with).
It sure does take a lot longer to mow though.
AFTER:
Aaaaaaahhhh.

wow--how inspiring! Makes me want to do yard work--which doesn't happen very often!
