a day of fishing

After our first experience with fishing around here, we decided to spend a day and venture out to a different spot: Johnson Reservoir.

We found this nice little dock to fish from, complete with a fishing boat.

Shad and the boys got things ready.

Avery watched on.

Shad was hoping they could just catch a fish on almost every cast.

He wasn't disappointed. First cast out brought back this little guy.

Not very big, but easy to catch.

Graham didn't want to pose for his catch.

Even though all we caught were little bluegill, the boys had a great time with it.

Even Graham warmed up to it.

Drake decided at one point to just tie the fishing line to his belt loop.

And then drop it in the water. Shad and I just laughed...

...until not five seconds later, he had caught a fish.

So if you want a place to catch fish easily, I think we've found it.

After spending some time fishing, we found a park and ate our lunch.

Then let the kids just have fun for a while.

We stopped at one more place to try and catch some more fish.

But it wasn't as prolific.

After a great day together, we enjoyed a nice, pleasant ride home.

I love our little family.
